Isn't it time to start calling the people who want immigration reform without employer sanctions and a counterfeit-proof i.d. what they are?
Slavers.
Thats all this is. Its a new spin on SLAVERY. They want to keep the workers in fear and without protection. The funny part is they're using the same argument to rationalize what in effect is slavery. STATES RIGHTS, yes, the same states rights that lead us to civil war.
Why slavery?
1) "Undocumented Workers" are here to work. Usually extremely difficult physical labor for insignificant wages. Well below federal minimum wage. No "American would work for that $ amount.
2) Employers hire these people specifically because they have no legal protection and can get cheap labor. They can be forced to work 60 hours for for $150 ($2.50 per hour).
3) The Arizona law would keep these people from turning to law enforcement for protection. If you knew going to the police would get you arrested and deported would you?
There are 3 parts to any solution:
1)HUGE Employer Sanctions $100,000 per undocumented worker
2)A counterfeit-proof I.d. for guest workers and a simple verification process.
3)A pathway to citizenship. A person who has been a good neighbor for more than 10 years should not be treated as if they're not worthy of citizenship. I'd argue this is exactly the type of person who should be an American. So the system mustn't be overly onerous.
Lets end the New Slave trade.
